This is NOT a blog that will illustrate how righteous and comfortable I am with my faith and relationship with God. Often, because of my own self-doubt, I am ignorant of how much He loves me. What I do know is, He is with me every step of the way on this learning experience...photography.

Our Christmas...
An overly honest moment:
I can't believe how much preparation went into this Christmas! I was really hoping to make it a unique Christmas (for me) in that it was solely about the birth of our Savior - Jesus Christ. I think it was in November that I went to a workshop specifically for that purpose. Billy and I were all set to make it about Jesus. Then, the Christmas wish lists came out - including mine:( (I'm not proud to say that I'm saving up to buy a new Mac desktop to help with editing my photos, and I loved raking in the gift cards). I couldn't resist the chaotic abyss that was my life in the two weeks before Christmas.
Long story short: Next year, I plan to eliminate the hectic, stressful mess and go right for keeping my focus on our Lord and the miracle that is His son, Jesus:)
That said, we did benefit from Christmas, as always, through wonderful time spent with family:)
Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera for the Ketron portion of the day, but I couldn't resist taking pictures of the pups and their Christmas that evening!
Watching his every move - oh so intently;)
Each pup got their turn at the real bone...
...until there was a pretty nasty fight, and then they could watch it while it froze on the back porch:(

Jacob's Christmas :)
Ok, so right before Christmas, my life got hectic - I hope I was the only one, but I have a bad feeling that ya'll know what I'm talking about! I didn't have a chance to post this before Christmas, but now I'm snowed in and wanted to show ya'll this handsome fella!
He loves his tractor! It was his Dad's when he was young! He got so distracted with the tractor, that his parents had to move it out of sight so he'd concentrate on the camera, but he didn't stop smiling when they took it away!!!

~ Annabelle ~
This is Annabelle ~ isn't she adorable??
This will be her first Christmas:) I think she already likes everything about it! The lights on the tree, of course, and then there was the ribbon...
I've noticed that the camera is slightly unnerving to children and I think this was the case with Annabelle. The ribbon helped a whole lot, so we didn't dare remove it from her hands once she had a hold of it!

A Personal Fav ;)
Awww! Love this family:) This is my sister, Sara, my brother-in-law, Mike, and their family! I was honored and privileged to do their Christmas photos this year...
Pierce takes a while to warm up to you, but once he does, he talk to you until his face is blue. He loves attention; especially when he gets to tell you about something he loves. The other day, I went over to their house (his Dad has been remodeling it for a few years now), and he told me everything I needed to know about their plans for the house, the materials they were using, and on and on...I couldn't keep up!

Robin and Pat 8-)
Love this girl! Robin and I got to know each other through my beloved church circle back home at Holland's UMC **miss you all**! Robin makes me laugh so hard, all of the time!
She is also a photographer and she took our (Billy, Gigi, and my) photos at the same time. It was so much fun!

The J. West Brothers
A couple of weekends ago, I met the West family:) I think this is such a good idea: Renae got these photos made for the boys' grandparents - a generational photo! Let me try to confuse ya'll, because I think I'm still a little confused myself...
James, the oldest of the brothers, and his wife Renae have Jacob -- one of the happiest babies I've ever met:)
I'm not sure if I've ever met nicer people...All three brothers were so agreeable and willing to do everything I asked. I'm used to griping - not necessarily from my other clients, don't get me wrong, but from my usually wonderful husband who hates the camera - ironically! As you can tell, and this isn't the half of what I asked them to do, I tried their patience;) They were so wonderful about the whole thing! Thanks guys!!!

Sweet Sadie:)
Ya'll may remember Gretchen's maternity photos several months ago. We did them at the Leak-Wall house in Rockingham. Her photos turned out great and I could NOT wait to do Sadie's baby photos! I got the opportunity a couple of weeks ago, and they're ready to share!
You saw a few of these on fb already, but here they are again. She looks a "little" bit like her mommy;)

Christmas Fun!
Ok, I know I did a complete 180, and these are not some of my best photos, but I want to tell ya'll about an opportunity for your child to meet the REAL Santa!!!
Every year, my sister and brother-in-law (mostly my brother-in-law) set up their house exactly like you see in the photos. It takes about 1 1/2 months, and he adds a few 1000 lights each year!
If you could see the sign that Santa is holding (above), you'd know that EVERY Saturday starting at 6pm, Santa comes (realistic, white beard and all) to their house and sits and waits for children to climb up on his lap. It is so wonderful, and they get candy canes before they leave:)
If you live near or around Raleigh, if you're visiting Raleigh on a Saturday, if you have kids or not, you should go by and see this elaborate scene!
Email me at amymoyerphotography@gmail.com if you're interested in more information including an address and directions. They live off of Ten Ten Rd - near the intersection of Holly Springs Rd (aka Walnut) and Ten Ten.
