So much for an entry a day! Actually, what had happen was....I chose probably the busiest week I've had since I left my full time job, to start this new "adventure". Its called my birthday week! I'm in high demand this week and I'm so happy to have a lot of things to take my mind off of the inevitable!
Today for my photo, I'm posting something that is in my house. I happened to glance at it last night before I went to bed and having already had a wonderful meeting with some of my church family that night, I felt compelled to post this photo.
I bought this rod iron cross at TJ Maxx (woot!) a few years ago. I believe I was in college or I was living by myself in Asheboro for my first job as a teacher. Either way, I remember when I bought it I was just beginning this very spiritual part of my journey. More importantly for me at the time, it was a fashionable way for me to decorate my home and say "I go to church!".
When I glanced at it last night though, I was so grateful to see it at that moment - in our bathroom of all places! I have been taught recently from many resources to look for God. Nope, not a ghost hunt! Per His suggestion I look for Jesus in the beauty of the world around me. No, I'm not talking about how beautiful this particular cross is or how wonderful my editing turned out, I'm talking about the beauty of the changing leaves, the sun shining, and in the particular moment last night, the reflection of the night's meeting with the girls. Last night, I was very honest with them. Ya'll know I'm very blunt anyway, but in certain cases I reserve that for a certain level of comfort. The beauty was, their absolute acceptance of what I had to say including my testimony about why our church is home to me NOW. GOD has most certainly put these people in my life for a more than evident purpose and I am so grateful and humbled.
...and I promise not to walk around taking photos in my house anymore;)
This is NOT a blog that will illustrate how righteous and comfortable I am with my faith and relationship with God. Often, because of my own self-doubt, I am ignorant of how much He loves me. What I do know is, He is with me every step of the way on this learning experience...photography.
